Climbing Chachani Volcano 2 days is one of the easiest 6000m peaks, The Chachani Volcano 6075 meter peaks in the world, as close to Arequipa as El Misti Volcano, For Climbing Chachani it's The altitude is the biggest concern for climbers. Crampons and an ice axe are the equipment of choice, no rope or other special equipment is need since there is no glacier. First ascent listed, by Biggar, was in 1889 with a possible pre-columbian ascent due to the presence of archaeological remains near the summit. Less climbed then its neighbor El Misti, Chachani is still a busy mountain. You can be lucky and be on your own, but you might also end up in a group of 40 climbers.

ITINERARY
 
DAY 01: AREQUIPA - BASE CAMP
 
We will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and transport in a private car to start our excursion to Chachani volcano, our route is by Cabrerias, Cañahuas, National Reserve of Aguada Blanca, On the way we can watch the wild vicuñas near El Misti and Chachani Mountains. We stop into the national reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas, there is possible to appreciate the wonderful like Vicuñas, Guanacos, Eagles, Viscachas, Deer's some times Condors. After we start the climb for east side until 5,200 masl (17,300 ft.) sandy slope, with reddish colorations, ash and volcanic tufo. Dinner and spend the night at 5,200 masl. (L,D)
 
  DAY 02: SUMMIT OF CHACHANI AND RETURN TO AREQUIPA
 

After a hot energetic breakfast we restart of the ascension to attack the summit. This ascension is harder and takes 6 hours approx. with slight equipment, attack to the pick Chachani for the col and base of the Coronado pick, then we pass toward the front side, view Arequipa, then through the pick Angel and Fatima hill. After attack the top, we have for a nice time getting spectaculars views from landscape of Coropuna, Ampato, Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya, Misti, Ubinas, etc. Take a rest at 5,800 masl, then attack to the summit. After the rest on the top of Chachani Mountain, we go back down, two hours approximately to our base camp, packing all the camping equipment and continue going down to our private 4x4 jeep. Transfer to your hotel (B,L).
