The Inca Trail through the rainforest is a new route offered exclusively By MARLON’S TRAVEL TOUR OPERATOR a trip full of adventure mixed with bicycles (INCA JUNGLE) and walking down an original Inca trail visited only recently discovered by our customers during the trip we will have the opportunity to visit Inca ruins, the first day fell by approximately 80 km away from (Carrizales 4316 m). Up to the rainforest of Santa Maria (1200 masl.) This is a most amazing travel and exciting to go to Machu Picchu, Inca jungle is one of the most beautiful routes to reach the lost city of the Incas.
We pick you up in your Hotel at 7:30 a.m. then we’ll go by bus four hours to ABRA MALAGA (4350 m.a.s.l.) in this place we’ll stop a while to see the beautiful snow mountain of VERONICA, after we’ll continue our route to arrive to CARRIZALES, in this place we’ll have lunch and rest a moment to start the biking tour, it will be four hours downhill, around the biking route we’ll find beautiful views valleys of the high jungle, here we’ll find many plantation of bananas, oranges, coffee, coca and so on, and we’ll cross for some small villages where we’ll meet with typical people as well, after we have enjoyed this first day, we’ll arrive to SANTA MARIA (1400 m.a.s.l.) and we’ll cross for some small villages.
RAFTING OPTION: For river rafting we will star after the lunch ,for a really adventurous people, we recommend this rafting tour for an additional 50 US Dollars, the weather is usually warm, the rapids and the nature will make out of this tour a nice day and giving you a different way to see the Amazon jungle. Before the rafting, there is a briefing about the commands, secure lines, safety kayak etc, this will be followed by a practice in the water, once passengers and guides feel comfortable, we will start going down the river.
During the first hours, we will be in the water running rapids class II, III, in this section there is a lot of water, nice big waves and holes, scenery is also spectacular with nice big trees and mountains that surround the river, there will be plenty of time to take pictures, swim and enjoy the nature, after we will go by car to Santa Teresa to join the rest of the group, here we are going to rest in a family house.
After a healthy breakfast we’ll get ready to start walking, this day we’ll walk 7 or 8 hours approximately, first we’ll take a flat part of the Urubamba riverside to start to ascend as one hour up, where we’ll find a part of one Inca route, as all the ancients Inca trails it is stoned with rocks and smalls stones, where we are going up and down for some steps; at this time we’ll be in the upper part of the mountain where we’ll meet some animal like green parrots, hummingbird, insects, etc; also we’ll find medicinal plants, and more fruits as avocados, pineapples, mangos, then we’re going to descent and we’ll cross the river in a typical cable cars (oroyas) and in footbridges; the small hamlet of Quellomayo will be our resting place to have lunch, after that, we’ll continue walking others 2 hours near to the river to arrive to the hot springs of SANTA TERESA, in this place we can take a shower in the big pool of warm and clean water and relax, then we’ll have to walk others 45 minutes to arrive to the town SANTA TERESA, where we’ll sleep this night.
This day will continue the trek to arrive the village of Machu Picchu, the walk will be 5 to 6 hours, we will stop at some waterfalls, where we’ll have the option to take a bath refreshing then arrive at hydroelectric, where we will have lunch and then continue our course to the village of Machu Picchu (AGUAS CALIENTES), here will have the afternoon off to rest or also have the option to climb the mountain PUTUKUSI, located in front of Machu Picchu; after dinner we’ll go to rest early thinking already in the tour of the next day, MACHUPICCHU.
We’ll get up very early (4:30 a.m.), to start to walk up to the archeological site of MACHUPICCHU, it will be to have the option to see the sun rise in MACHUPICCHU, after taking the first pictures our guide will give us information about the history and architecture (two hours), then you’ll have free time (4 or 5 hours)to walk around and take pictures yourself or to climb up to Huaynapicchu Mountain, in the afternoon we have to go down again to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have time to have lunch, then we’ll take our train to return to Ollantaytambo, (we’ll have three diferents train schedules) and in this place our friend will be waiting for us to bring back to CUSCO.
